There were really all kinds of building within the Shenwu Academy, dazzling the eyes.
All sorts of pavilions, palaces, courtyards–in a word, so many that they were countless.
The materials used for them were also different. Some were built out of granite, others from superior sandalwood. Some were carved out of exquisite white jade, others cast of glistening metals.
All kinds of buildings with widely varying styles, almost all of them different.
Su Mo gasped quietly in surprise at these structures. He found it strange that they were so disorganized.
In some places, there were a continuous cluster of dense buildings. You could not see where the last building was. Elsewhere, there were just a few, scattered structures.
Su Mo saw many Shenwu Academy disciples along the way. They were all of the Martial Emperor Realm.
Some of the martial artists looked around 20. It was extraordinary for them to reach the Martial Emperor Realm at such a young age.
This fact astounded Su Mo. The Academy was a million-year-old institution of the highest pedigree. It was indeed very remarkable.
The young man brought Su Mo around the Shenwu Academy. They went through an unbroken line of buildings and soon arrived at a big gate.
The gate was carved out of white jade. A dozen meters high, it looked antiquated but simple. Numerous patterns were engraved on the gate.
Most surprising was the fact that there was only a bare door frame, standing by itself in the barren plot of land.
Nothing was in its front or its back and sides. It looked like a mere decoration.
A young woman stood before the gate.
She was about 27 or 28, dressed in a lily-white dress. Her figure was graceful and curvaceous.
Her fair face was stunningly beautiful. Her features were very exquisite, with a lovely nose and eyes like a phoenix’s. Her brows seemed painted with black pigment. Her lips were ruby red. She was a ravishing beauty.
However, her facial expression was very cold–as cold as frost. She seemed to be telling strangers to keep away from her.
“Teacher Mu, this man is here to see Grand Master Huoyuan!” The young man pointed at Su Mo and saluted the woman in white with a cupped fist in a hand.
“Alright.”
The woman in white lifted her enchanting face and glanced at Su Mo. She said nonchalantly, “Follow me!”
After this, she took a step forward, entering and then disappearing through the gate.
“Hmmm?” Su Mo raised his eyebrows upon seeing this. She had disappeared!
Was this gate an entry into a Small World?
Su Mo looked at the young man and was puzzled.
“This is the entrance to the inner mansion!” The youth replied.
Su Mo suddenly realized that the Shenwu Academy was divided into an inner and an outer mansion.
Then, without any hesitation, he took a step forward and entered the gate.
Within the blink of an eye, the scene before him changed. He had entered another world.
“This is… ?” Seeing the scene before him, he drew in a breath of astonishment.
So this was how the inner mansion looked like.
Su Mo was under a boundless, starry sky. The land he stood on was vast and extensive. He could not see how far it stretched.
Under the starry sky, thousands of mountain peaks hovered. It was a magnificent sight.
These mountain peaks were not very high. Some were about 100 meters high. The tallest was only about 10 kilometers high.
These peaks were arranged in a very orderly fashion. The center peak was the highest; the mountains in the outskirts circled the center peak to form a ring. The farther outside a mountain was, the shorter its height.
On almost all these mountain peaks were exquisite buildings. A palace for immortals seemed to be on all their summits.
Shadowy figures of martial artists flickered on the mountain peaks. There were also some strange creatures dancing.
Su Mo stared stupefied at the scene. He had not expected the inner mansion to be this spectacular–so utterly astounding.
“Follow me!” The woman in white’s cold voice reverberated around Su Mo’s ears. Her dressed fluttered as she soared forward.
Su Mo took a deep breath and immediately went after her, not daring to take his time.
Together with the woman in white, they soared through the air, beyond the mountain peaks, toward the center.
Soon, the two reached the summit of a mountain, over 3,000 meters high.
The mountain peak was located in the center. It was not its highest peak, but there were fewer than 10 other peaks higher.
Many palaces were built on this summit. The woman in white walked on leisurely and brought Su Mo quickly to one of the central palaces.
She continued walking and pushed open a door, leading Su Mo straight into a palace hall.
The palace hall was empty. Only a gray-robed elder sat cross-legged on a futon. His eyes were completely shut and he was as still as a rock.
The elder was slightly stout, with a large face full of wrinkles. He had a head full of white hair and a wispy white beard on his chin.
“Teacher, I have brought him here!” The woman in white approached the elder and bowed.
The eyes of the gray-robed elder slowly opened. They were slightly cloudy, but with profound depths.
His eyes settled on Su Mo which made him shiver a little. Nothing seemed able to escape his all-penetrating eyes.
He sized the elder up and could not tell his cultivation level. He was like a vast ocean, absolutely unfathomable.
“You have strong willpower and is suited to be a Craftsman. No wonder Chai Jin recommended you here!” The elder finally spoke. His voice sounded distant and weary.
“My greetings to you, Sir!” Su Mo saluted him with a cupped fist in a hand and bowed in respect. He was astonished–the man could tell his willpower level with a single glance.
The elder raised his head and asked nonchalantly, “Are you Su Mo?”
“Yes!” Su Mo nodded.
“Are you wiling to join the Shenwu Academy?” the elder continued.
“Yes, I am willing!” Su Mo agreed at once. The Shenwu Academy was too remarkable a place for him to reject this offer.
“Very well!”
The elder raised his head again. “From now on, stay on Huoyuan Peak! Be diligent and learn craftsmanship from me!”
“Errr… !” Su Mo was shocked and looked hesitant. Although he was highly gifted in craftsmanship, he had wanted to pursue martial arts, not craftsmanship.
Grand Master Huoyuan was clearly a craftsman. If he stayed on this peak, would he be studying craftsmanship all the time?
Su Mo did not want to pursue this. He began to hesitate.
“Why? Aren’t you willing?” The elder saw him hesitate and instantly creased his brows.
The woman in white beside them was baffled too. Did this lad know who was before him?
To be able to learn craftsmanship under Grand Master Huoyuan was an extravagant dream for most craftsmen in Star Guzhou–or even the entire Ancientspirit Galaxy.
To think that this boy before them had not looked too willing!
