Chapter 1030: Significance of the Family Compass

Lucy put most of her energy into the search for the Goodman family compass.

The search for the Goodman family compass was a task left by the previous head of the Goodman family.

The previous head of the Goodman family stated in his will that his inheritance would be given to whoever found the family compass.

Until now, the huge lump sum of wealth left by the previous head of the Goodman family had not yet been inherited.

It was also said that the compass itself hid a secret related to the family treasure.

As the Goodman family had been involved in a war hundreds of years ago, part of their wealth had been hidden away.

The location of the family treasure was apparently recorded on the compass.

And thus, over the years, the compass had always been in the hands of the Head of the Goodman family.

However, the family compass was no longer in the hands of the Goodman family. Therefore, the Goodman family was determined to find the compass as it hid their family’s secret wealth and because it was the previous head’s dying words.

If Lucy found the family compass, she would be able to completely change her position in the Goodman family and thereby change her fate.

However, the compass was difficult to find.

If it was easy to find, the Goodman family would have found the compass a long time ago.

However recently, Lucy tracked down a piece of information. Apparently, an elder of the Goodman family who had the family compass in his possession previously visited Beijing.

Perhaps, she could use this piece of information to find some further clues.

Lucy was currently handling the daily tasks of a company in her study. Her study was located in a villa on the outskirts of Beijing.

“Miss Lucy, the person you’re looking for is here.”

“Bring her in.”

“Okay.”

The subordinate brought the person over to Lucy.

Cai Qinyue looked at the western beauty in front of her. Her eyes were filled with some disbelief.

This was the Goodman family!

One of the most powerful and rich families in the world!

Even the Zhai family and the Qin family were not comparable to the Goodman family!

Cai Qinyue felt a little flattered to be invited here. She even felt a little overwhelmed.

She began to search for English words in her vocabulary as she did not know what to say.

“You don’t need to be nervous,” Lucy said in Chinese.

Oh, she knew how to speak Chinese. That makes matters much easier.

“Hello, Miss Goodman. Did you call me over for some matter?” Cai Qinyue asked nervously.

“Nothing important. I just heard about what happened to you and your daughter. I feel bad for you guys,” Lucy replied.

“You… Know about what happened to my daughter and I?”

“Yeah. I know your daughter is currently dealing with a lawsuit. However, you couldn’t even find a good lawyer for her. In fact, any famous lawyer in Beijing does not dare to help your daughter. To make matters worse, the Wen family refuses to help you. They are just leaving your daughter to suffer a heavy sentence.”

Lucy’s words made Cai Qinyue’s eyes become red.

These days, she felt incredibly alone and helpless. She did not know how to help her daughter.

“Miss Goodman, if you know about this matter, you must know how troubled we feel about this. The Wen family is incredibly biased. They refuse to acknowledge and accept their granddaughter with their own surname. Instead, they care about Jian Yiling. A granddaughter with another family’s surname.”

“Ms. Cai, if you don’t mind, I can get a lawyer to help you with your daughter’s lawsuit. My lawyer can reduce the sentence for your daughter.”

“Really?” Cai Qinyue asked. She was overjoyed to hear this.

“Of course. I wouldn’t be joking around.”

“But…” Cai Qinyue started. She was a little confused. However, she knew that there was nothing free. Lucy would not help her for no reason.
