When Jian Yujie saw that Jian Yiling finally woke up, he rushed forward and asked, “Are you okay? Are you still in pain?”
Jian Yiling shook her head.
“You’re lying to me again. Gastroenteritis hurts a lot.”
“I’m not in pain. You don’t need to feel sad.”
“I’m not sad. However, you need to get well soon. You shouldn’t run around when you’re still sick,” Jian Yujie said to her solemnly.
“Okay,” Jian Yiling replied. Her tone was quite serious. Then she said, “You should go home first.”
For no particular reason, Yu Xi felt as though Jian Yiling sounded like Jian Yujie’s nagging mother for a moment. However, the way she instructed him to do things was rather cute.
“No, I’m not leaving. I asked the school to give me a day off,” Jian Yujie replied. He didn’t want to leave now. He wanted to stay with his sister.
Jian Yujie had contacted his teachers whilst he had been waiting for Jian Yiling to wake up.
After Jian Yujie replied to Jian Yiling, he shot a sideways glance at Zhai Yunsheng. There was obvious hostility and caution in his eyes.
If this man was here, he definitely could not leave him alone with Yiling!
Yu Xi walked up to Jian Yujie and put his hand on Jian Yujie’s shoulder, “Listen to your sister. Go home first. I’ve already contacted Grandma Jian about this matter. She will be here soon. You don’t have to worry.”
Yu Xi didn’t dare to not report the situation to Grandma Jian. Whilst Jian Yujie was on the phone contacting his school, Yu Xi took the opportunity to contact the Old Jian Residence.
“But I want to stay with my sister for a little longer,” Jian Yujie replied. He didn’t want to leave.
“Your eyes are ugly. You need to go home and sleep,” Jian Yiling told Jian Yujie.
Jian Yujie hadn’t slept all night. As a result, he had dark circles under his eyes.
Yu Xi took the opportunity to tease Jian Yujie, “Look, even Yiling is making fun of you! You should hurry home and crawl into your bed! Don’t let your sister worry about you!”
All of a sudden, Jian Yujie didn’t know what else to say.
He didn’t want Yiling to worry about him again.
“Okay… I’ll go home. You have to get well soon as well.”
Before Jian Yujie left, he told Yu Xi to take good care of Yiling. He also carefully insisted on not letting Zhai Yunsheng get too close to Yiling.
Although Yu Xi promised Jian Yujie, he wasn’t sure of whether or not he could uphold that promise. If Zhai Yunsheng really wanted to get close to Jian Yiling, he couldn’t stop him.

Yu Xi asked his housekeeper to bring over food.
There was plain congee and a plate of vegetables.
Zhai Yunsheng attempted to feed Jian Yiling the congee.

“No… Don’t…”
Jian Yiling protested in a soft voice. She protested not because she disliked Zhai Yunsheng, but rather, it was quite embarrassing to be fed by someone else.
“Be a good girl,” Zhai Yunsheng coaxed.
He brought up a spoonful of congee next to Jian Yiling’s mouth.
When he saw that Jian Yiling didn’t open her mouth, he kept holding the spoon there.
This made Jian Yiling feel even more embarrassed. She didn’t have the habit of bothering people.
And thus, she opened her mouth and began eating in small bites.
Initially, her lips were quite pale. However, they started to gain some color after she had a few mouthfuls of congee.
Yu Xi began to explain the situation to Jian Yiling, “Yiling, please don’t blame me for not giving you anything nice to eat. Right now, you can only have congee and vegetables. However, my chef attempted to cook as many different dishes as possible.”
Yu Xi began to introduce the different dishes, “This one is asparagus. It’s incredibly tender. It was steamed in water. No oil and salt were added to that dish. This other one is stir-fried broccoli and sweet potato. That dish also doesn’t have much oil and salt in it.”
There were various dishes of green vegetables. Not a single bit of meat was seen. Not to mention, all the dishes were quite tasteless.
After Yu Xi finished his introduction of the dishes, he assured Jian Yiling, “Don’t worry. When you get better, I’ll take you to eat all sorts of delicious foods and exotic delicacies. It’s my treat.”
