A+ A- Eye On

Chapter 139

“That day…”

“Wait.” Lu Shao was about to say something else but he was interrupted by Su Ran. “Give me a minute to sort out my thoughts.”

Su Ran felt that her brain was a mess right now.

The document in front of her was too detailed to be fake. There were certain a lot of coincidences, but time-wise they made sense.

Nevertheless, the plotline of the novel had already been rooted in Su Ran’s mind.

But, looking at the document that was lying there in front of her, did that mean the plotline of the original novel had changed completely?

Well, that’s not necessarily true either.

Anything that needed to happen had happened. Su Ran gained her scar and became pregnant on the same night, just as she did in the original novel.

Whether she got pregnant from one of the gangster underlings or from Lu Shao didn’t seem to change anything substantial.

Su Ran gave Lu Shao another look and felt that something else was off but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

Ah well, it was what it was.

“So, according to this report. Due to some mishap, that night, you and su… me had… “

“Yes.” Lu Shao gave her a definitive answer. His Adam’s apple rolled and he felt an itch in his throat.

“I wasn’t aware of the mishap at the time and thought that the one in the room was still the woman that was arranged by the side branch, so…”

So he didn’t pay much attention to Su Ran who was tossed into the room. After all, she was a pawn from the side branch and they would, naturally, come and take care of it. He was already being too generous not taking care of the pawn himself.

Partly it was because Lu Shao was yet fairly inexperienced back then. If it was now, Su Ran probably would have been wiped off the surface immediately.

All of a sudden, Lu Shao was glad that he wasn’t that ruthless back then.

“I’m sorry,” said Lu Xun after a slight pause with his eyes lowered.

What Lu Shao didn’t understand was…

He came here angry yesterday to confront this woman. But, once they have sat down face to face, it turned into Lu Xun doing the explanation.

Including apologizing.

As for what he concerned the most – what Su Ran had done in the past 13 years – he had not brought up a word of it at all.

“There really is no need to apologize, Mr. Lu,” said Su Ran.

Taking out all the coincidences etc., Lu Shao, too, was just a victim in all this.

Being set up by someone from the side branch and had a relationship with a woman he didn’t even know.

What if he was germophobic? Or that he has a white moonlight in his heart that he had been saving himself for?

As for her.

The original owner suffered a lot after ward as well but, all in all, she brought that upon herself.

Even if it wasn’t the man who was sitting in front of her right now, it could be one of the underlings. And she might be in a much worse predicament than she was in right now.

Now, at the very minimum, she could be sure that the other half of her son’s DNA came from one person, not one person among a group of individuals.

Wait!

The thought of Su Han reminded Su Ran of a very solemn problem.

Why did this man show up out of the blue, look for her, and told her the truth of what happened back then?

It was obvious that he was a true boss anyone one looked at him. He possessed status, power, money and lacked nothing.

As for herself and Su Han, they were the pair of mother and son who were just now getting out of poverty and it didn’t seem like there’s anything that they possess that Lu Shao could possibly want.

He wanted her to compensate for his pain and suffering for what happened back then?

That seemed very unlikely.

Then, the only thing that he could possibly want could on be….
