As though something had occurred to him, Zhou Fu suddenly frowned and looked troubled.
“Ummm, Sir, the bidding event is on the 17th.” Zhou Fu reminded him and he peeked at Lu Shao’s reaction.
He thought to himself: Just let us take care of the bidding and focus on your own son, Sir.
Lu Shao, too, was taken aback a little from Zhou Fu’s words.
“Throw in money as sponsor and had them delay the bidding by a day, no, two days,” said Lu Shao very concisely.
“I’m afraid that won’t work. This bidding is state-held and it’d be difficult to interfere. Plus, they have also arranged for an art performance before the event,” said Zhou Fu.
Hearing that, Lu Shao went silent for a little bit.
Right when Zhou Fu thought that his boss was about to give up on the idea, he saw Lu Shao nodded.
“Go arrange for it.”
“What? Sir, you…”
“Do you really think we will leave our opponent 10% chance on a project that the Lu’s are eying?”
Zhou Fu, “……”
Mr. Lu, that is so ruthless, not leaving the Song’s with any chance at all.
“But, the young master’s birthday…”
Lu Shao interrupted him coldly before he was done talking, “He’s a boy. He doesn’t need his birthdays celebrated.”
Lu Shao did not even try to hide the sternness and distaste in his voice when he said that.
Had Zhou Fu not known Lu Shao as well as he did, he would not have been able to detect the hint of regret and guilt hidden underneath the distaste.
As the boss had already made up his mind, there wasn’t much more Zhou Fu could say as his assistant.
Zhou Fu sighed to himself and also felt that the whole thing was somewhat comical.
“Then, Sir, should we start preparing for the little young master’s birthday present?” Zhou Fu approached the subject at a different angle.
Sure enough, as soon as Zhou Fu said that, Lu Xun pondered about it.
“Alright.”
“Ahem, then Sir, have you given it some thoughts what you’d like to give him?” asked Zhou Fu.
Hearing that, Lu Shao frowned slightly.
After a long while, he heard Lu Shao’s voice again, “Do you have any suggestions?”
“Um…” Truth was, as soon as Zhou Fu had obtained the information on Su Han and learned that his birthday was coming up, he had already started thinking about what would be an appropriate gift for the little young master.
He even specifically spent time on looking into Su Han’s interest and also appropriate gifts for boys his age.
Unfortunately, his efforts were proven pointless.
“Perhaps, we can buy the little young master a car?” said Zhou Fu after some considerations.
It seemed that the few young masters of the Lu’s all liked cars quite a bit and that was more or less what they would get each other for their birthdays.
The little young master has no use of it right now but they could always store it in the garage and he would be able to use it once he was of age.
“A car?” Lu Shao sneered abruptly when he heard that. There was a shred of sarcasm in his eyes. “Just why should I get him a car?”
Zhou Fu, “……”
“Then how about a mansion? I looked into Dongshan Mansion a few days ago and, with the exception of the main strip, Blocks 2 to 7 are all available. That way the little young master can move there when he is older.”
“If a house is what he wants, he can earn it himself.”
“Yes, Sir.” Zhou Fu thought about it some more and his eyes lit up all of a sudden. “What do you think about the undeveloped area in Country A belonging to the Lu’s, Sir?”
The area that Zhou Fu was talking about was passed down from the Lu’s. It was still undeveloped but, per the result of their prospecting, it was a very valuable piece of land!
“It’d be perfect for the young master to practice with!” Zhou Fu became progressively more emotional as he talked.
Lu Shao, too, looked serious when he heard Zhou Fu’s suggestion.
“Let’s not touch that piece of land just yet,” said Lu Shao.
He had thought about giving that piece of land to Su Han as well but not yet. This was too early and not the right time for that.
