Chapter 214 \n\n
Whether Lu Shao’s intention was to fight over Su Han’s custody with Su Ran aside, Su Ran believed that Lu Shao’s intention for Su Han was pure.
Besides, Su Ran was very sure that Su Han would not have the opportunity to sneak out and look for a part-time job under Lu Shao’s supervision!
Being looked at like that by Su Ran, Su Han had a very stuffy look on him; nevertheless, Su Ran was still able to spot the almost undetectable nod coming from Su Han.
Now that she had figured out how to “board” her son, Su Ran could focus on getting ready for her competition.
***
When Friday came around, Su Ran first sent a message to Su Han, who was still in school: Son, Mom is taking off now. Your dad will be picking you up in a little while. I have already packed up your clothes for the next few days and left them on your bed. You can ask him to drop you off at home quickly and pick them up.
At school, Su Han had a very … indescribable look on him when he saw the message from Su Ran.
“Brother Han, what’s the matter? You didn’t do well on your examination?” asked Liu Yangyang when he walked over and noticed the not-so-happy look on Su Han.
“You think everyone is like you?” Su Han rolled his eyes at Liu Yangyang and said to him meanly before he tossed his cellphone aside with an unhappy look.\n
Hrm. He wasn’t worried about that woman on her trip; he was merely contemplating whether he should skip out of school.
At home.
After receiving the “Have a safe trip and text me after you have arrived” message from her son, Su Ran smiled, grabbed her suitcase, and got ready to walk out the door.
Nevertheless, before she could walk out, she heard knocking from the outside.
“Who is it?”
“Me.”
Lu Shao?
Su Ran was surprised.\n“Lu Shao? How come you are here? I thought you are going to pick up Su Han?” said Su Ran as she looked at Lu Shao, surprised.
Lu Shao merely said a couple words to her, “No rush.”
He paused for a little bit and added tenderly, “I’ll drop you off first.”
“Oh?”
“Are you heading over to the airport or the train station?”
Su Ran, “… …”
“Oh, thank you so much.” Su Ran, after thinking that it’d be a bit of a walk to get herself a car, finally decided to accept his kind offer.
“Just this suitcase?”
“Uh, yes. I get it.” As she was talking, she thought about something and her eyes lit up. She added, “Oh, yeah. Those are Su Han’s clothing for the next few days plus his textbooks. Perhaps you can take those to your car as well?”\n\n“Don’t go out at night if you don’t need to. If you don’t’ like the room assigned to you, swap a room yourself…” said Lu Shao.
Hearing that, Su Ran’s lips twitched.
Was this because they were father and son? Even their worries were surprisingly identical.
As Su Ran was thinking that to herself, she heard Lu Shao carrying on, “And, give me a call if you need anything.”
“Okay.” Su Ran nodded, albeit feeling a bit awkward. Then she added, “Thank you for taking care of Su Han while I am away.”
“Keep an eye out on him and don’t let him pick up any part-time work during his time off.” Su Ran finally stated her biggest worry after some hesitation.
Unexpectedly, Lu Shao was taken aback a little after she had said that but finally gave her a meaningful smile.
“Don’t worry. He won’t have that much energy.”
Su Ran: Why did she feel that the next few days in her son’s life is somewhat worrisome?
