Zhang XiaoXue’s mother shared an article: “For Real! Avoiding Mosquitoes On Your Outdoor Trip”. That sounded useful so I thought I’d share!
Mmm, not bad. Saved.
Zhang Hao’s father shared an article: “What to Do In Case of an Emergency In the Wild?”
Well, the West Park really wasn’t the wild, but just in case, save that too.
Du WenTao’s Mother: I bought mother-and-son windbreakers for this camping trip! /photo /photo /photo
They had no style to speak of. Thought Su Ran to herself, but she still liked it despite her true feeling for it.
Su Ran then saw that Du WenTao’s mother had also posted the same pictures to the parents’ group.
[Du WenTao’s Mother]: I don’t have experience going camping before. I bought a set of windbreakers for the camping trip. Let me know whether you think this will work. /photo /photo.
Su Ran: Ho ho ho.
You want others’ opinions on that? I think you are trying to show off.
Su Ran couldn’t be certain that she was showing off, but ever since Du WenTao’s mother had posted those few pictures, a flood of pictures on everybody’s gear showed up in the chat group.
The flood of pictures finally stopped after Class Teacher Wang showed up and posted a message.
But that was far from over.
Inside the school.
Du WenTao sat next to Su Han.
He had always thought that Su Han was a bit on the intimidating side, so he never really talked to him before, but his mother had been telling him to have good relationships with his classmates, especially someone who was a paragon of virtue and learning. After the basketball game with Su Han over the weekend, the two of them have finally been closer to each other.
“OOOOhhhh! I’m about to go crazy!” Du WenTao moaned loudly next to Su Han after arriving at school early in the morning.
Su Han merely casted him a nonchalant look and looked down at his vocabulary list.
That did not bother Du WenTao much. He continued to gripe to Su Han. “Su Han, you know what? My mother bought me a set of super ugly windbreakers! For real! It’s super ugly! Could not be uglier kind of ugly!”
“Really that ugly?” asked Su Han.
“Yeah! Not just ugly, uber ugly! Here, let me show you!”
Du WenTao pulled out his cellphone, found a picture, and showed it to Su Han.
That was the picture that his mother had forced him to take the night before. In the picture, Du WenTao and his mother were wearing a matching set of windbreakers. His mother looked to be very happy. As for Du WenTao, he looked like he was forced into it through and through.
As for that set of windbreakers, it did make Su Han speechless.
“Am I right? Uber ugly, right?”
“……” Su Han was going to say that it was very ugly, but then, remembering that Su Ran said to not be so direct when he talked to others, he paused and gave a still somewhat honest answer. “It doesn’t look good on you.”
“Right??? I’m a guy. I can’t believe my mom is making me wear this at my age. Look at this. The patterns are roses! I’m going to lose my mind!”
His mother had even asked him to post the picture to his friend’s circle. No way! He would be teased to no end had he done that!
Du WenTao couldn’t begin to fathom how many would tease him if he wore that to the Quality Development Outing.
“Speaking of, Su Han, have you guys bought sun-protection clothing yet?” Du WenTao suddenly looked at Su Han full of hope.
His mother had told him that she had already convinced Su Han’s mother that they would be on the same team together. If Su Han’s family hasn’t bought them yet, perhaps they could convince his mother to go with Su Han’s family to get a different set.
Unfortunately, Du WenTao was doomed to be disappointed.
“Yes, we did,” said Su Han with a nod.
“Oh… you’ve bought them already.”
“What does yours look like?” asked Du WenTao, feeling blue, after some painful howling.
“Nothing special. Just the normal kind. There are a few strips on the sleeves, shoulder, and pants for decoration. That’s it,” said Su Han.
Even though Su Ran had collected some of the more showy or trendy sets at the beginning, when it came time to place the order, both Su Ran and Su Han had decided to pick the simplest style of all.
“I want that kind too!” Hearing that, Du WenTao felt even more desperate.
He wasn’t asking for a lot. Just something normal would do. All he could say was, same world, different mother, different sense of style.
