A+ A- Eye On

chapter 99

Looking at the gaudy windbreaker on Du WenTao’s cellphone and then thinking back on the two sets that they had received yesterday night at home, which Su Ran had already washed and hung up to dry, Su Han suddenly felt very lucky.

Luckily, that woman has decent taste in clothing.

If Su Ran was like Du WenTao’s mother and forced him to wear something like that…

Su Han shuddered from just thinking about it. He gave Du WenTao a sympathetic look before he turned back to his textbook.

At the very moment that Su Han looked down, he suddenly had an odd feeling.

As though he had sensed something, he looked up abruptly and looked over at the direction of the front door of the classroom.

Sensing the sudden silence, Du WenTao was about to turn around to talk to Su Han again before he noticed that Su Han was staring straight at the direction of the front door.

“What are you looking at?” Du WenTao also looked over at the direction of the door.

“Oh, my lord! Lao Liu is here. Why didn’t you tell me? That’s so not cool.” Seeing that their English teacher was walking inside of the classroom, Du WenTao quickly shoved his cellphone inside of his pocket and flipped open his textbook. He then looked down and pretended that he was reading.

That was their English teacher there earlier? No.

Su Han took a look at the English teacher, who had already walked onto the podium, and looked back over at the classroom entrance.

Su Han frowned and looked at a spot for a long, long time and only turned his attention back when the English teacher announced that there would be a dictation. Suspicion remained in his eyes.

At the same time, in their apartment, Su Ran was finally feeling bored after she spent all morning reading her friends’ circle and the parents’ group chat.

Clicking out of WeChat, Su Ran stood up and walked into Su Han’s room. She grabbed one of Su Han’s half-used notebooks and a pen.

She pulled up all of the text messages from the bank and started writing each and every single one of them down in the notebook. Then, she added the miscellaneous items, such as the amount remaining in WeChat as well as what she had left in her wallet.

2,000,000 + 400,000 + 273.73 + … + 769.5.

Total: 3,701,007.23.

“3.7 million.” Su Ran mumbled the amount to herself as she looked at the sum displayed in her calculator app.

As she had received 2M yuan from Yu LeLe’s Studio and obtained a side job with Mr. Lu, Su Ran’s capital had been rising at an astonishing rate lately.

Su Ran was able to move her plan of buying their own place further up the schedule.

With the very “touching” house prices in City B, it’d be impossible to buy an apartment straight up with cash. But if she picked a location that wasn’t too ideal, then she probably has enough for down payment.

Let’s do it!

Su Ran looked at a few floor plans and their reviews that mostly meet her requirements and narrowed it down to a few locations. She then changed, applied some light makeup, grabbed her purse, and left her apartment with her chest held high.

When Su Ran stepped out, she happened to run into DaBao’s grandma walking up the stairs with a few boxes in her hands.

Seeing Su Ran, DaBao’s grandma seemed to have hesitated for a little before she turned away awkwardly. She kept her head down and continued up the stairs with her boxes.

Su Ran wasn’t surprised by her reaction at all.

After Su Ran’s arrival, when she ran into others in the building, they’d at least exchange a greeting or at least smiled and nodded in the past.

However, that had stopped since the debt collectors had come the other day, and her neighbors had learned that she would be moving away shortly.

She wasn’t sure whether they no longer wished to speak to her because of what happened that day or that they felt embarrassed because they had forced her to move because of the nasty things that they had said to her.
