After looking through some of the stalls, it was finally time for the Sea Dragon Parade and we had to move on. What we have this time are tickets with assigned seating. There are other tickets that allow you to stand anywhere within the designated area, but even though they are less expensive, they are apparently much more crowded.
Meanwhile, the reserved seats seem to have chairs with a certain amount of space between each seat, and I imagine they’re like the seats Kuro called for us back at the Harmonic Symphony?
[Even so, it’s surprising that such a coincidence occurred. I never expected that our seats and Kaito-san’s seats would be right next to each other…… No, it’s a good thing that we can watch the show together.]
[Ahaha, you’re right. It’s quite a coincidence, isn’t it?]
I could feel my face slightly cramping as I responded to Neun-san’s words. If I were to be honest though, rather than just considering this a coincidence, it seems more natural to think that Alice had some hand in this.
With Alice’s capabilities, adjusting the seats as she pleases would likely be an easy task, and considering that Hapti-san was the one holding the tickets on their side, I’m almost certain that that was the case.
Well, not like there’s any problem with it. Just as Neun-san said, I could only see this as an advantage with us watching the show together.
We showed our tickets to the attendant, who showed us to our seats. As to be expected from reserved seats, the view of the main street from our location is excellent.
This place is located at the curve of the street and is said to be a popular spot for watching the Sea Dragon Parade.
[Speaking of which, what are you two going to do after the Sea Dragon Parade, Neun-san? Me and Alice plan to go to the plaza to watch the ceremony……]
[We intend to go to the plaza as well. I do feel embarrassed by that, but I presented that message this year, I’m curious to see how it will be publicized. Well, I had only written something bland though……]
[Well, in that case, how about hanging out together until the ceremony ends? Going to watch the ceremony in the usual way seems like it could be quite crowded, so Alice-sama, please somehow do something about it!]
After watching the Sea Dragon Parade, if we move to the plaza where the ceremony is held, it will be just in time for the ceremony. And since I’m interested in that message Neun-san presented, we had talked about checking that out.
And since Neun-san and Hapti-san were also planning to do the same, we discussed the idea of hanging out together until the ceremony and then going our separate ways.
Alice gives Hapti-san a somewhat exasperated look when asked to secure for them a path to the ceremony…… but seriously, their conversation was at a level where there’s no sense of incongruity between them, to the point where I might forget that they’re the same person even if I’m aware of it.
As I had such thoughts in mind, I heard the sound of drums and flutes as the Sea Dragon Parade seemed to have begun, to which I turned my gaze that way. There I saw a large dragon-shaped decoration, from its face to its body, and several people worked together to support this massive decoration with poles. Each person is positioned at the head or the body, and they synchronize their movements to create the illusion of a single large dragon in motion.
[Ohh, that’s amazing. It’s even larger than I expected, and it has quite an impressive presence……]
As Neun-san said, it kinda resembles a lion dance, but being modeled after Eingana-san, the Sea Dragon decoration is quite enormous, with nearly ten people cooperating just to support the poles holding the head portion.
Combined with the lively sound of drums and flutes, it really exudes a festival atmosphere, making it very exciting to watch.
Just as mikoshis and lion dances attracted people’s attention, the Sea Dragon Parade is quite impressive and wonderful to watch.
Their synchronized movements, which must have required a lot of practice, are impressive, but perhaps, because they were originally designed with the intention of presenting to the audience, the movements of the Sea Dragon also looked conscious of the audience’s gaze, and there are clever touches throughout that keep the viewers entertained without getting bored.
The time until the big Sea Dragon passed through the curve wasn’t so long, and before long, we could only see the back of the dragon, but the excitement of having witnessed something amazing continues to linger in my heart. It was a truly fantastic parade.
[Incidentally, this is a bit of a trivia, but when Eingana-san, the one that dragon is modeled to, saw that decoration…… She had apparently muttered, “C- Can’t you make my face a bit smaller?”. Considering her actual size, the real deal is just much younger, but it certainly is amusing that even a dragon is worrying about having a small face.]
[……I don’t really think that information is necessary right now……]
No, being a woman, it’s alright for Eingana-san to be concerned about having a small face. Whether dragons have small faces or not isn’t something I can fully grasp as a human, but I suppose that’s ultimately a personal preference…… It’s just, how should I say this…… I still feel like sharing that information here would ruin the lingering memories we had just now.
[Afterword]
Serious-senpai: [She’s surprisingly concerned about her size? Out of the Four Great Demon Dragons, she’s second in size after Grandiereus, so I guess it isn’t that strange? Nidzveld is concerned about being small, while Eingana is concerned about being big huh……]
